THE MIDTOWN MEN~ 4 stars from the Original Cast of Jersey Boys 
After a successful 2010 tour of nearly 50 cities across the US and Canada, THE MIDTOWN MEN (Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer) kicked off their 2011 tour with a spectacular show in New York City at the Colden Center at Queens College on Saturday, April 9th. The group’s jump- to- your-feet show features top hits from a who’s who of the ‘60s including The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Temptations, The Jackson 5 and The Four Seasons, whose story they brought to life every night as stars in the Original Broadway Cast of Jersey Boys. I think we may have Stockard’s own “One Degree of Separation” here (she was nominated for an Oscar for “Six Degrees of Separation”). All of us boomers remember Stockard as the incomparable Betty Rizzo (”Rizzo”) from “Grease”; Frankie Valli sang the title song in “Grease”; and Christian Hoff won a Tony for “Jersey Boys”, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
In fact, in my life, I have often stolen the Olivia Newton-John (”Sandy”) line to Rizzo when Rizzo thinks she could be pregnant, (paraphrasing): “Riz, I know we haven’t always been the best of friends, but please let me know if I can do anything”, or something like that.
I am indeed so anxious to see my all grown-up Betty Rizzo in “Pal Joey”.
