Christian Hoff Update

Sounds like Christian Hoff has been a busy man. He has just completed recording the audio book Don’t Look Twice by New York Times and International best-selling author Andrew Gross. Gross, author of The Blue Zone , has co-authored six best-selling crime-thrillers with James Patterson. Don’t Look Twice is not set for release until early March, but you can pre-order your audio book by clicking on the “Don’t Look Twice” book in the From Amazon section in the right sidebar.

Of course Hoff is no stranger to audio books. Entertainment Weekly called him a “Master Mimic” in 2007 when he beat out Jim Dale (of Harry Potter audio book and Broadway fame) to claim his World Record for an unprecedented 241 character voices in an audio book. That book — Tell Me How You Love the Picture: A Hollywood Life — by Hollywood Producer Edward S. Feldman and Tom Barton, afforded Christian the opportunity to voice such notables as Harrison Ford, John Wayne, Eddie Murphy and Jack Lemmon. Also it was a finalist as Foreword Magazine’s 2008 Audiobook of The Year.

The audio book is available on amazon.com, and can be accessed by clicking on the “Tell Me How You Love the Picture” cover in the From Amazon section in the right sidebar.

In case you missed it the first time around, ABC will re-run the Ugly Betty episode “Betty Suarez Land” on January 29th. Be sure and set your Tivo - you don’t want to miss Christian as DA Blackman in a rather “compromising position”! And don’t forget, Christian revealed in his exclusive Pal Joey blog interview that “they have left it open for DA Blackman to return using his powers of persuasion!”

  1. I think Christian could make any audio book a pleasure to listen to. He did a fabulous job on TELL ME HOW YOU LOVE THE PICTURE. And it makes wonderful company on a car trip. Of course, the entertaining story doesn’t hurt.

  2. Thanks for posting the link to that video tour. I love it. I wish the whole book had video! Great to know Christian’s been busy.

  3. Thanks so much for the heads-up on this. I’m so excited - James Patterson is one of my favorite authors, and his novels with Andrew Gross are great. I’m going to pre-order mine now.

I’ve listened to Tell Me How You Love The Picture twice, and it’s really entertaining. Christian is just great - he does all those voices so well.

Thanks for keeping us informed - can’t wait to hear what his next venture will be.

  4. Does anyone recall how Patti LuPone’s star shone even brighter after she left “Sunset Boulevard” earlier than was scheduled in favor of Glenn Close over a decade ago? Well, she showed ‘em, didn’t she??

Christian’s got a lot of friends and a lot of fans out there, not to mention his tremendous talent. I wouldn’t be surprised if he not only equals, but eclipses the theatrical successes of Patti!

  5. This is a great blog. Thanks for keeping us posted on the multi-talented Christian Hoff. Keep the news coming.

  6. I agree with you Howard. We are all looking forward to following this great man and his upcoming success! I will definitely be purchasing the audio book.

  7. Watching the NY Video tour reminded me of my favorite Christian Hoff video - a backstage tour from Jersey Boys. I tried to watch it again, but it wasn’t available! Anyone know a site other than broadway.com to find it???? I’m really bummed!

  8. I just finished Andrew Gross’s previous book “Dark Tide” - kind of boning up on the character so I’ll be prepared for “Don’t Look Twice”. It was good - not great - but suspenseful enough to keep me turning the pages. There were a few steamy parts - if the new book is the same, I might blush while listening to Christian read that !!!

  9. I’m sure Christian will take your blushing as a compliment!

  10. Glad I watched this - heard so much about Christian but have never seen him in action - he’s a hottie for sure.

  11. Andrew Gross will read from, discuss and sign copies of Don’t Look Twice at Borders Park Ave. (at 57th St.; 212.980.6785) on Tues., March 3 at 7pm.

We hope you can join us!
